ABSTRACT

Objective:To understand the current situation of syphilis infection among 12 295 blood donors in Huainan area, so as to provide reference for the management of public health. Methods:The Treponema pallidum(TP) antibody of the blood donors was screened by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, and the unqualified blood donors for TP antibody were confirmed by Treponema pallidum particle agglutination(TPPA).Results:There were 48 blood donors TPPA positive among 12 295 blood donors in Huainan area, and the TPPA positive rate was 3.90‰(48/12 295). There was no statistically significant difference in the TPPA positive rate of the different gender blood donors[male 3.12‰(22/7 048) vs.female 4.96‰(26/5 247)] in Huainan area( u=1.61, P>0.05). There was statistically significant difference in the TPPA positive rate of the different marriage blood donors[married 5.33‰(42/7 884) vs.unmarried 2.01‰(6/2 989)] in Huainan area( u=2.33, P<0.05). There was statistically significant difference in the TPPA positive rate of the blood donors among different education level in Huainan area(χ 2=29.94, P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the TPPA positive rate of the blood donors among ABO blood groups in Huainan area(χ 2=2.24, P>0.05). Conclusion:There are significant differences in the TPPA positive rates of the blood donors among marital status and education level in Huainan area.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the ABO blood group and Rh blood group system antigen distribution in Huainan area. Methods To investigate the Huainan area of 24 035 voluntary blood donors of the ABO and Rh blood group system phenotype and gene frequency distribution by the population genetics of the blood type. Results In the Huainan area population, the gene frequency of ABO blood type distribution was r > P > q,the distribution of phenotype was O > A > B > AB,the distribution of RhD(-)frequency was 0.36%,and this result was consistent with the RhD(-)frequency of 0.2%~0.5% of the Han population in the country. Conclusion ABO blood group and Rh blood group were two separate systems, control their distributed rule in the Huainan region was very important to the clinical use of blood, establishment of a repository of rare blood group of RhD(-),alleviation the lack of state hospital transfusion, raising the level of clinical treatment and to the reducing the incidence of immunological transfusion reactions.

ABSTRACT

Objective To control IDS virus (HIV)transmission through blood, provide low -risk blood donors to donate regularly, and ensure blood safety and reduce the risk of blood transfusion. Methods By analyzing HIV antibody(anti-HIV) test results, HIV infection and prevalence of blood donors from 2000 to 2009, susceptible people were identified, prevented, educated,in order to prevent the spread of HIV. Results A total of 10 years in Huainan region 361 cases of anti-HIV positive were screened out. Anti-HIV-positive of voltmtary blood donors were recognized anti-HIV positive in 4 cases ,accounting for 0.209/10 000 of the total voluntary blood donation. Epidemiological analysis in 4 cases of anti-HIV confirmed positive results: the education level of all was less than high school,75% were the local household registration ;25% were mobile population, and all were young adults, aged from 23 to 38 years;75% were workers, and 25% were temporary workers and the service sector. Conclusion By strictly blood screening to blood donation, strengthening the management, intensify propaganda against AIDS in efforts, raising people 's awareness of prevention, the spread of AIDS could be prevented and controlled.
